Is my child too young to start?

Our minis classes welcome children from age 3, and for many of them it is their very first structured activity. Classes are gentle, playful and built around short attention spans. Miss Jess is known for helping nervous first-timers feel at home from their very first lesson.

How do trial classes work?

Your child's first class is free, so they can try a class with no commitment. Just book the class marked on our timetable through Bookwhen, or send us a message and we will help you pick the right one.

What should my child wear to their first class?

Comfortable clothes they can move in are perfect for a first class. Once they join, our personalised JLDA uniform is available at a reasonable price, and children love feeling part of the team.

What does it cost?

Classes are booked termly through Bookwhen, where current prices are listed for each class. Your first class is free, and holiday workshops are priced per day. Get in touch if you would like help working out the best option.

Will my child get to perform?

Yes, performance is at the heart of JLDA. Every class works towards an end-of-term mini performance for families, there is a watching week each term, and dancers can take part in our annual shows, community showcases and summer school. Older dancers may be invited to join our competition teams.

Which venue is closest to me?

We run classes at six venues: Faith Church in Rogerstone, The Sycamore Centre in Risca, Rhiwderin Community Centre and Village Hall, Stow Park Community Centre in Newport, and Llandaff North and Gabalfa Hub in Cardiff.
